What we collect
Nothing. Toastie has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking, and it does not send us any personal data. The game contains no third-party code that collects data.
Visits to this website
toastie.fun counts its visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, from Cloudflare, which also hosts the site. It sets no cookies, stores nothing on your device, and does not fingerprint or identify you. It records which pages are opened, the site that linked here, and the type of browser and device and the country, and we see only the totals. We also count how many times the App Store links on this site, and the toastie.fun/play link in posts shared from the game, are followed: one number a day, with nothing about who followed them. We count visits to see whether people find the site, which is our legitimate interest (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)).
What stays on your device
The game keeps these on your iPhone or iPad: your recipe book (best score and stars for each recipe), your lifetime totals, which recipes are unlocked, and your settings (sound, hints, device finish). They are included in your device backup if you use iCloud Backup, and deleting the app deletes them. We never receive them.
From version 1.1, if you are signed in to iCloud, Toastie also keeps a copy of your recipe book, totals and unlocked recipes in your own iCloud account, so they follow you to your other iPhone, iPad or iPhone Duo. Apple stores it in your account, and we never receive it.
Game Center
Leaderboards and achievements use Apple's Game Center and are optional. If you sign in, Apple processes your Game Center identity and scores under Apple's privacy policy; like every developer, we can see the player alias and scores that Game Center shows publicly. If you don't sign in, the game plays exactly the same and nothing is posted.
Reminders
Reminders are off until you switch them on in Toastie's settings. Then Toastie can remind you when the grill has gone cold. The reminder is scheduled on your device and never passes through a server. Switch it off in Toastie's settings, or in Settings › Notifications › Toastie.
Saving and sharing
When you tap share on a finished toastie, the picture goes only where you send it. Nothing is ever sent to us.
- The share sheet hands the picture to the app you choose. Instagram Stories and X are offered there too.
- Save Image adds it to your photo library. Toastie asks only for permission to add photos and cannot see anything already in your library.
- Instagram Stories hands the picture to the Instagram app on your phone. It goes through the clipboard, kept on this device only (never Universal Clipboard) and cleared after ten minutes. Toastie's Meta app ID goes with it so Instagram can show where the picture came from. Once it is in Instagram, Meta's privacy policy applies.
- X opens with a post already written, with a link to toastie.fun and a mention of @toastie_fun. Nothing is posted until you post it.
Crash reports
If you have chosen in iOS Settings to share analytics with app developers, Apple may pass us anonymous crash reports. They do not identify you, and you can switch this off in Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements.
Purchases
Toastie is a paid download. Apple takes the payment through the App Store, and we never receive your payment details. There are no in-app purchases. If we ever add some, such as recipe packs, Apple will handle those payments too.
Children
Toastie is suitable for everyone. Because it collects no personal data from anyone, it collects none from children.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, erase, restrict, port and object to the processing of your personal data (Articles 15 to 21). We hold no personal data about you, and we will confirm that if you ask. You may also complain to the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (UODO), Poland.
This website
toastie.fun runs no analytics and sets no cookies. Its fonts, code, pictures and video are served from our own site, not from third parties. Our host, Cloudflare, may keep short-lived technical logs, such as IP addresses, to keep the site secure and running.
Governing law
This policy is governed by Polish law. That does not take away any mandatory protection you have under the law of the country where you live.
Changes
If anything here changes, we will update this page and the date at the top.
